Detailed Biography The most important things you should know about: John has over 30 years experience as a senior commercial loss adjuster, handling major and complex insurance claims. This involved developing recovery strategies from a wide range of incidents, such as flood, storm, fire and IRA terrorism. John has experience working with every type and size of business, ranging from the one man band to multi nationals. He is best described as a business trouble-shooter, having assisted in excess of 2,000 businesses to overcome serious financial and operational issues. Companies have included Tesco’s, Monsoon, Pizza Express and Arcadia.
John loves nothing more than working with a client management team to identify critical issues, generate action plans and motivate the team to produce the required outcome. He sees his essential qualities as; professionalism, enthusiasm, effective communication, innovation, adaptability and dependability. John is a regular speaker on business continuity management issues. He has presented at Lloyds of London, Central and Local Govt. conferences, NHS seminars and at many private sector gatherings throughout the UK. John worked as part of Research Study Group 249 for the Insurance Institute of London to produce guidelines for the insurance industry to promote business continuity planning in the SME sector. He is also regularly invited to write articles for professional publications in relation to the specific vulnerabilities of the SME business sector. John likes to practice what he preaches and keeps a healthy balance between his work and home life. He loves to keep fit, and has run 16 marathons, with his best time being 2 hrs 50 mins. Other interests include hill walking, mountain biking and the cinema, all of which he shares with his wife, Mary Carter, who is a Business Advisor. |
